What Eclectic Expects from Business Partners

Eclectic expects all business partners to approach bribery and corruption issues consistently with the principles of this policy. This requirement applies to agents, subcontractors, joint venture partners, and all other business associates. If Eclectic cannot ensure these standards are met, the business relationship will be reconsidered.

Agents and Representatives

In many international corruption cases, agents have passed part of their commissions as bribes. Eclectic strictly prohibits this practice.

To maintain the highest standards of integrity, employees must ensure:

  • Full background check — Thoroughly research the background and reputation of agents, representatives, and subcontractors before engaging them
  • Full documentation — The engagement process must be fully documented; final approval of selection must be made by someone other than the person selecting or managing the relationship
  • Written commitment — Agents must be fully briefed on this policy and provide a formal written commitment to abide by it
  • Justifiable fees — All agreed fees and commissions must be appropriate and justifiable remuneration for legitimate services rendered

After agreements are signed, Eclectic will continue to monitor relationships. Contracts will include provisions allowing Eclectic to withdraw from the relationship if the agent fails to abide by this policy.

Partnership Relationships

The same documentation and careful review requirements apply to joint ventures and other partnerships. Where Eclectic holds majority control, it will ensure partners adopt the same anti-bribery and anti-corruption approach set out in this policy.

Suppliers and Contractors

Eclectic ensures that procurement procedures for appointing suppliers and contractors are open, fair, and transparent. Selection is based on evaluation of professional merit — not personal recommendations.

Eclectic communicates this Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy to all suppliers and contractors and expects compliance when they work on Eclectic's behalf. Breach of these principles gives Eclectic the right to terminate the contract.

Project Risk Assessment

Eclectic employees must assess, manage, and review the full range of risks — including ethical, legal, financial, and operational — at every stage of a project cycle, including corruption-related risks. Eclectic will not take on any assignment requiring bribes to be paid. Project managers must keep ethical and legal risks under constant review throughout an assignment.
