Employee Conduct Standards
Eclectic employees are expected to strictly comply with the principles of the Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy and promote good practice at all times.
Eclectic will not criticize or penalize employees for any loss of business resulting from adherence to these principles. Employees who report concerns in good faith will also not be penalized, even if the concern turns out to be unfounded after investigation.
Can We Accept Bribes and Kickbacks?
No. Eclectic prohibits employees from:
- Engaging in acts of corruption
- Paying bribes or kickbacks to public officials or private individuals
- Accepting bribes or kickbacks from any party
This includes indirect bribery — for example, where a commercial agent passes part of their commission to a government official. Eclectic does not tolerate such practices in any form.
All employees who engage subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, or advisers are responsible for ensuring those parties are made aware of this Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy from the outset of the relationship.
Facilitation Payments — Zero Tolerance
Eclectic will not make or approve facilitation payments under any circumstances, even where they are local practice.
If an employee encounters a demand for a facilitation payment, they must:
- Report the situation to their line manager without delay
- The line manager will notify the local HR team or Eclectic Compliance Committee
In extreme situations (e.g., demand for payment to access emergency hospital admission), employees should use their best judgment and report the incident to their line manager at the earliest opportunity. Eclectic will support employees in exceptional situations, provided full transparency is given immediately after the incident.
Bribing Public Officials
Bribing or corrupting a public official is a serious offence that can carry severe legal penalties and cause significant reputational damage. Eclectic will never offer anything of value to a public official in order to influence an official decision.
Charitable Donations
Eclectic may support local charities or provide sponsorship (e.g., sporting or cultural events), but only when:
- The donation is transparent and properly documented
- The recipient organization serves a legitimate public purpose
- Appropriate due diligence has been conducted on the recipient
Political Activities
Eclectic has a policy of strict political neutrality. We do not make donations to any political parties, organizations, or individuals engaged in politics. Employees may hold their own political views, but may not use Eclectic premises or equipment to promote those views or associate them with Eclectic's position.
